Miguel Acosta

Chief, Autonomous Vehicles Branch

Mr. Acosta was appointed Chief of the DMV’s Autonomous Vehicles Branch in 2018. Mr. Acosta has over 25 years of experience in the public sector, with over a decade in executive leadership. Mr. Acosta’s previous executive assignments at the DMV included: Branch Chief over the Department’s Special Interest License Plate Program, International Registration Plan and Motor Carrier Permit programs; Assistant Deputy Director of Field Operations; and Chief of the Justice and Government Liaison Branch. Miguel earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of California, Davis, as well as a Master of Arts in Public Policy/ Administration.
